5 Inspiring Ted Talks suggested by founders we interviewed

We are all working from home these days. Between working long hours and spending time with the kids, it’s harder to find time to consume good content (other than Netflix, which is always a great option for binge watching). To save you some time, we compiled the 5 best Ted Talks recommended by founders we interviewed. These short talks inspired the founders to do great things, and we hope these will inspire you too. Enjoy!

Recommended Ted Talks

  1. “Make Your Bed – Little things that can change your life” by Admiral William H. McRaven

Avi Eyal, Partner at Entree Capital, recommended this inspirational speech by Admiral William H. McRaven, who was a Navy seal for thirty-seven years and commanded at every level. He speaks about why making your bed in the army is the most important thing you do.
  1. “How great leaders inspire action” by Simon Sinek

“This Ted Talk always helps me go back to the question ‘Why I do what I do’ as an individual, a leader, and a manager”, said Tamar Schapira, Co-founder & CEO of Sensit.
  1. “Your body language may shape who you are” by Amy Cuddy

“I like to take this Ted Talk in a larger context. It helps perceive the amount of control we have over every aspect of our lives”, said Oren Moravhick, Co-founder & CEO of RSPCT.
  1. “Lost in Loss: A Window into the Grieving Brain” by Zoe Donaldson

This Ted Talk was recommended by Sanj Sanampudi, Co-founder & CEO of Concert, who watched it after the loss of his brother:

“My brother died very suddenly when I was about a year into starting Concert. In the months after, I could tell I viewed the world differently and wondered if something had changed permanently in my brain. I saw this Ted Talk which confirmed my suspicion… There’s a whole body of research that covers how different situations can activate different neural systems, how those systems can be more intentionally activated, and how those systems can get people to perform at their best”
  1. “Why we have too few women leaders” by Sheryl Sandberg

So many founders we interviewed told us how Sheryl Sandberg’s books and Ted Talks were inspirational for them.

Yael Florenthal, Co-founder & COO of Spetz, shared with us how Sanberg influenced her: “Something about seeing these statistics and facts truly echoed within me. I can honestly share that it helped change some critical patterns, which in turn served me when we started our journey with Spetz.”
